Kevin D. Kirby


Kevin D. Kirby is a corporate and transactional attorney specializing in mergers and acquisitions, capital-raising transactions and executive compensation. He represents privately held companies and nonprofit entities of various sizes and in a wide range of industries throughout the Southeast. In addition to representing these businesses in major transactions, he assists them with the legal aspects of day-to-day operations, including corporate compliance, employment issues, tax matters and contract negotiations. Mr. Kirby also represents founders and executives of small businesses with matters ranging from design and implementation of buy-sell arrangements and exit strategies to executive compensation and estate planning.

Prior to establishing his own firm in November of 2003, Mr. Kirby worked for seven years with a large Atlanta law firm where his practice focused on mergers and acquisitions for both privately and publicly owned businesses. During that time, Mr. Kirby developed special expertise in the tax issues involved in issuing equity to employees and other service providers and handling equity compensation issues in the context of mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Kirby continues to be a frequent presenter at seminars devoted to these issues.

Mr. Kirby is a native of the Atlanta area and a resident of the Druid Hills neighborhood of Atlanta. He is active in several local charities and is a frequent presenter at seminars for other attorneys and professionals
